I am delighted to announce that I've finally heard back from the college and have successfully been offered a place in the Photography course!
I will be starting on Tuesday, September 27th and they have already arranged an outing for us on Sunday, October 2nd also.
I'm so very excited!
What a drive! Best roadtrip I've done in a long time. I set off on Friday from Bandon, collected my bestie in Cork and headed on up the road. We stopped off in Knock and then Glencar Waterfall and Lake and carried on to Bundoran. We checked in to the Allingham Arms Hotel and had a nice walk on the beach and rocks while we saw Dolphins swimming in the sea. We took a little trip down to Donegal Castle and headed on back to Bundoran where we settled down for the night.
On Saturday, we visited the Fairy Bridges in Bundoran and took a wee trip to Letterkenny, we then carried on to Glenveagh National Park and castle where we rented bikes and cycled our lives away! This was my fave as I absolutely love cycling and the views were spectacular here! Once we hopped off the bikes we headed on up to Malin where we checked in to Malin Hotel. We decided to get some grub in Carndonagh where we asked a local for a recommendation and we were sent on down to Simpsons bar and restaurant which was absolutely lovely. We then took a trip out to Malin head both in the day and during sunset. Unfortunately we were too early in the night to see if we could catch the Aurora Borealis but the views were still lovely. I managed to fall on my bum while climbing down the side of the cliff here too, that was fun haha.
On Sunday we took a little trip through Londonderry and then we hopped on the Park and Ride in Bushmills which brought us to the Giants Causeway where we took a nice aul stroll down to the stones. After this, we headed on down through Belfast and the like and stopped off in Junction 14 where we were nearly crushed by the crowds of Tipperary people coming home from the match. Once we got our food and managed to find a table to eat, we headed on home back to Cork.
It was a lovely weekend, I truly enjoyed it and out of all the beautiful places we visited, the one I would most recommend is definitely Glenveagh National Park & Castle and defo go here by hopping your arse up on a bike!
I created a little map of the route we took, I don't know if this is any good, but shur take a look below! Enjoy!
After much encouragement from friends, today I've reserved this new camera at one my local stores and will be collecting it in a few hours.
This beauty is the Canon EOS 1200D DSLR camera and comes with two lenses:
I've also recently applied for a photography course at my local college so that I can hopefully go from an amateur photographer to experienced/professional photographer. I'm sitting here day by day, just waiting to hear back from them to see if I have got in or not. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
